The University of Sierra Leone’s Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and IPAM Students’ Union Government (SUG), is set to stage a major health walk aimed at promoting fitness, awareness, and community engagement under the theme: “A Healthy Transition into Our New IPAM.”

The event is scheduled for Saturday, 25 April 2026, at 8:00 a.m. It will commence at the IPAM Main Campus on A.J. Momoh Street and end at Family Kingdom, Aberdeen. It is expected to attract students, staff, health advocates, and members of the public.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Head of the Organising Committee, Madam Bintu Kamara, described the initiative as a significant programme designed to promote healthy living and community participation.

She said preparations have been completed to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated event, adding that measures have been put in place to manage participation, logistics, and safety.

Madam Kamara also disclosed that the event will feature a series of speeches from different speakers addressing key health-related issues, aimed at educating participants on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and raising awareness on public health concerns.

She added that the programme will also include elements of entertainment and social interaction to create an engaging environment for participants.

She encouraged the public to participate in large numbers, noting that the event is open to everyone and will serve as a platform to promote wellness and community unity.
