President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has departed Sierra Leone on an official mission to participate in high-level international football engagements organized under the auspices of FIFA.
As part of his itinerary, President Kamara will attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico City on Thursday, June 11, 2026. He is also expected to witness the tournament’s opening match as part of FIFA’s official programme for football administrators and stakeholders.
Following the opening events, the SLFA President will travel to Miami, United States, to participate in the FIFA Summit, a gathering of football federation presidents, senior administrators, and key stakeholders from FIFA member associations around the world.
His participation in these engagements forms part of the SLFA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships, promote international cooperation, and advance the strategic interests of Sierra Leone football within the global football governance framework.
The mission is also expected to provide opportunities for constructive dialogue on football development, capacity building, governance, and other matters of mutual interest to FIFA member associations.
