Former President Ernest Bai Koroma has been the subject of widespread online speculation in recent days, with some social media posts falsely claiming that he is seriously ill or has passed away.

However, these claims have been strongly dismissed by Sheriff Mahmud Ismail, a former executive Personal Assistant to former President koroma, who described the rumours as entirely unfounded.

In a public statement, Ismail said that former President Koroma is in good health and remains active, noting that he even continues to engage in sporting activities such as squash. He further dismissed the circulating reports as misinformation, stressing that they do not reflect reality.

“Fmr President Koroma is so hale and hearty that he still plays squash! By God’s grace, he shall outlive those wishing him evil,” Ismail stated.

The clarification comes amid a wave of unverified social media posts alleging that the former president was critically ill or had died—claims that have not been supported by any credible source or official confirmation.

As of now, there has been no statement from the former president’s family or official office addressing the rumours, but the latest remarks aim to counter the false narrative spreading online.
