The Sierra Leone Housing Corporation (SALHOC) has strongly condemned the vandalism of its office building in Freetown and announced plans to formally report the incident to the Sierra Leone Police for a thorough and impartial investigation.

In a Press Release dated 13 September 2026, the Corporation said a video circulating on social media shows individuals vandalizing its property after apparently mistaking the building for the office of an individual reportedly known as “Jagaban.”

SALHOC clarified that the property belongs to the Sierra Leone Housing Corporation and is not the office of the individual who was reportedly being targeted.

The Corporation expressed serious concern that members of staff were inside the building performing their official duties when the incident occurred, saying their lives and safety were placed at considerable risk.

According to SALHOC, two private vehicles belonging to staff members were also damaged during the incident.https://thecalabashnewspaper.com/archives/64341
