Freetown, Sierra Leone – Alhaji Dauda Musa Bangura, Vice President of the Old Prince Waleans Association (OPWA), has donated NLe 5,000 to the Prince of Wales Scout (6th Freetown Troop) to support their ongoing camping activities.

The donation, made on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, underscores his commitment to youth development and the promotion of scouting within the Prince of Wales community.

Presenting the contribution, Bangura described the gesture as a way of encouraging the troop while inspiring fellow Prince Waleans to support initiatives that foster discipline, leadership, and community service among young people.

“This is my own little way of supporting the troop in their camping activities and encouraging others to also give back to the school and the scouting family,” he said.

The Unit Leader, along with members of the troop, expressed appreciation for what they described as a timely intervention, noting that the funds will significantly support their camping programme. They further described the donation as a demonstration of leadership and commitment to youth empowerment.

They also called on members of the Prince of Wales community, particularly alumni, to continue supporting scouting activities to ensure their sustainability and growth.

The Prince of Wales Scout (6th Freetown Troop) remains instrumental in shaping the character of young people through programmes focused on teamwork, leadership, and community service, with continued stakeholder support seen as vital to its success.
