The Old Princewaleans Association (OPWA) has expressed its support for newly appointed Minister of Finance, Princewalean Karefa Kargbo, ahead of his Parliamentary approval scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2026.

As part of its show of solidarity, the President and Vice President I of OPWA, Princewalean Samuel E.F. John and Princewalean Alhaji Dauda Musa Bangura, paid a courtesy visit to Kargbo and presented him with Prince of Wales School regalia as part of congratulatory gifts following his appointment.

The Minister-designate, who received the delegation in high spirits, expressed appreciation for the gesture and said he intended to wear the regalia as part of his dress code during his Parliamentary approval.

Kargbo said the gesture would allow him to proudly display his Princely heritage as a former student of the Prince of Wales School.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting his alma mater and called for a more united and progressive Old Princewaleans Association.

Meanwhile, OPWA has called on its members to attend Parliament on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. to show their fullest support for Kargbo and other Princewaleans appointed to key positions in government.

The Association is urging members attending the Parliamentary approval to come dressed in Prince of Wales School colours or attire as part of the show of solidarity.
