The Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Hon. Haja Ramatulai Wurie, has arrived in Seoul, South Korea, on Monday, 20th April 2026, leading a delegation from her ministry.
The delegation is expected to proceed to Daegu to participate in the Saemaul Undong Training Programme hosted by Yeungnam University, scheduled from April 20 to 25, 2026.
During the programme, the Minister is expected to deliver a keynote address on the theme: “The Saemaul Undong Programme to Boost University Education and Economic Development in Sierra Leone.” She will also present an overview of proposed educational cooperation between Sierra Leone and South Korea.

The initiative draws on South Korea’s Saemaul Undong development model and is aimed at strengthening human capital development by training Sierra Leonean students to contribute to national growth.
During the visit, the Minister is expected to hold bilateral discussions with counterparts to deepen cooperation in the education sector.
She is accompanied by:

Upon arrival, the delegation was received by Sierra Leone’s diplomatic staff in South Korea, including Ambassador Paul Sobba Massaquoi, Rachel Kanu (Head of Chancery), Musu Martha Langley (First Secretary), and Michaella Bonnie (Information Officer).
The Saemaul Undong Training Programme focuses on enhancing university education and promoting economic development cooperation between Sierra Leone and South Korea.
