Former APC National Campaign Secretary, Abubakarr Kamara-Taylor, yesterday, September 5, 2026, formally declared his intention to contest for the position of National Organising Secretary of the All Peoples Congress Party (APC), promising to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures, improve coordination and ensure the organisation is better prepared for future elections.
Speaking at the MIB Complex in Bo District, Kamara-Taylor described his candidacy as an offering of service, stressing that the organising secretary’s office should be defined by responsibility, competence and results and not prestige.
He cited his experience as former National Treasurer of the APC National Youth League, National Campaign Secretary during the 2018 General Elections, National Coordinator of Join 4 Better Salone and Special Adviser to former President Ernest Bai Koroma. He has also previously contested the National Organising Secretary position three times.
Referencing Article 50(c) of the APC Constitution, Kamara-Taylor said the office carries a critical responsibility for party coordination, recruitment, activist and polling-agent training, voter education, mobilisation and campaign implementation.
He pledged to strengthen the APC “from the polling centre upward”, through regular training, improved communication, stronger membership engagement and year-round organisational preparation.
He further called for greater inclusion of women, young people, students and persons with disabilities, alongside stronger digital and diaspora engagement.
Kamara-Taylor also unveiled his Organising Blueprint, a strategic manual outlining his vision, objectives and proposed programmes for improving party coordination, strengthening structures and ensuring timely implementation of organisational activities.
While acknowledging the competitiveness of future elections, he cautioned that no organiser could guarantee victory, but effective preparation could create the conditions for success.
He urged party members to embrace his five-point organising philosophy: “Listen, Organise, Communicate, Mobilise and Deliver.”
Concluding his declaration, Kamara-Taylor said: “Organisation is the bridge between political aspiration and electoral possibility.”
