Sierra Leone’s First Lady and President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), Her Excellency Mrs Fatima Maada Bio, today Tuesday 13th October 2026 was received in Dakar by the First Lady of Senegal, Her Excellency Mrs Marie Khone Faye.

The First Lady of Sierra Leone will join her colleagues on Wednesday 14th October, 2026 for the official launch of the Building Resilience campaign which is undertaken by the First Lady of Senegal. This gathering of the African First Ladies will be an opportunity to share their experiences in the next two days and strengthen their common commitment to women’s and girls’ resilience.

Faced with climate change and socio-economic crises, strengthening the resilience of women and girls stands as a priority. Discussions will focus on education, keeping girls in school, and economic empowerment of women alongside sustainable solutions by public authorities.
