Another Tragedy Hits SLAJ… Philip Neville Passes On

I Come To Bury Neville - Not to Praise Him!

Sierra Leone media icon and veteran Journalist, Mr. Philip Neville has passed away in the early hours of Wednesday 28th December 2022.

He served in the capacity as both Vice President and acting President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists.

He was also the Executive Editor for Standard Times and Managing Director of Star Radio, and Television Station.

Another sad story is that of the death of ESTHER KANNY KARGBO, who died on 26th December 2022.

She served as Vice President of SLAJ and former Chairperson of the SLAJ Membership & Credentials Committee.

The Owl Newspaper joins SLAJ and other media outlets to extend sincere condolences to the bereaved families, relatives and friends.

May their souls Rest In Perfect Peace.

The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) regrets to announce the death of our senior colleague, PHILIP NEVILLE, which sad event took place early today, Wednesday 28th December, 2022 at the Choithram Memorial Hospital, Hill Station, Freetown.

Until his death Mr. Neville was the owner and CEO of Media One Center (Standard Times Newspaper, Star Radio and Star TV). He was a former Vice President and Acting President of SLAJ.

We extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, friends, and the entire media fraternity.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

May the Lord have mercy upon him and grant him eternal rest in Perfect Peace.
