The All People’s Congress (APC) has announced the relocation and re-run of its Falaba District elections to the party’s Northern Regional Office in Makeni, Bombali District, following the disruption of the electoral proceedings.

The decision follows an earlier public notice issued by the Independent Electoral Management Committee (IEMC) on September 27, 2026, concerning the re-run and relocation of the elections.

According to the APC National Secretariat, the initial electoral proceedings were violently disrupted, during which the IEMC Coordinator was allegedly physically attacked and assaulted. The party said the incident also raised serious security concerns surrounding the conduct of the elections.

The re-run has therefore been scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the APC Northern Regional Office in Makeni City.

The APC National Secretariat has urged all eligible delegates, aspirants and stakeholders to take note of the new venue and time and to conduct themselves peacefully and in accordance with the rules governing the electoral process.

The party further reminded its members that the elections are court-led and time-bound, stressing that cooperation, discipline and compliance with the electoral process are necessary for the successful conclusion of the exercise.

The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) and the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have also been formally informed of the relocation and scheduled re-run of the elections.
