Breaking: President Bio Makes 7 New Appointments, Reshuffles NASSIT Leadership

President Julius Maada Bio has announced a series of new government appointments affecting key ministries, institutions, and boards, including major leadership changes at the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT).

The appointments were contained in a public notice issued by State House and signed by the Secretary to the President, Barba B. Fortune. The release stated that the appointments are subject to parliamentary approval where applicable.

Under the ministerial deployments, Ms. Isata Marah has been appointed as the new Deputy Minister of Finance II, while Dr. Isata Kamanda takes up the role of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security I.

Ing. Bryan Smart-Kanu has also been appointed as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security II, serving alongside Dr. Kamanda in the ministry’s leadership structure.

In board-level appointments, Mr. Ahmid C. Jalloh has been named Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Conservation Trust Fund.

The announcement also introduced significant changes to the leadership of NASSIT, with Ms. Jenneh Jabati appointed as the new Chairman of the NASSIT Board of Trustees.

Additionally, Mr. Chernor Mamoud Jalloh has been appointed as the new Director General of NASSIT, while Mr. Mohamed Bangura takes up the position of Deputy Director General for Administration and Finance.

The newly appointed officials are expected to undergo parliamentary review and approval where required before formally assuming their respective responsibilities.

The changes form part of President Bio’s latest adjustments to strengthen leadership across key government institutions and sectors.
