The body of the late All People’s Congress (APC) National Chairman, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, has been received in Sierra Leone following its arrival at the Freetown International Airport, drawing hundreds of mourners, party stalwarts, and sympathizers.
The solemn reception brought together senior APC officials, grassroots supporters, family members, and members of the wider public, all united in grief to honour a man widely regarded as a key pillar of the party’s leadership structure.

The arrival of his remains signals the commencement of funeral rites and memorial activities planned by the APC to celebrate his life and legacy. Party members described the late chairman as a committed leader whose dedication to strengthening the party and promoting unity within its ranks left a lasting impact.
Scenes at the airport were marked by emotion, with mourners visibly heartbroken as they paid tribute to the late politician, reflecting on his years of service and his role in shaping the direction of the opposition party.

Many supporters praised Mansaray for his steadfast loyalty to the APC and his contribution to the country’s democratic process, noting that his death represents a significant loss not only to the party but to Sierra Leone’s political landscape.
Funeral arrangements are expected to continue in the coming days as party faithful and relatives prepare to bid farewell to one of the APC’s most influential figures.
