The Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) has announced that its postponed Annual General Meeting (AGM) will now take place at the end of July 2026.

According to a notice issued by the Association, the AGM will be held from July 31 to August 1, 2026, at the Freetown International Conference Centre in Aberdeen.

The gathering is expected to bring together legal practitioners from across the country to deliberate on issues affecting the legal profession, review institutional reports, and conduct elections for new leadership.

This year’s AGM will be held under the theme: “Trade, Finance & Law: The Legal Profession’s Role in Facilitating Global Economic Integration.”

The programme will include presentations from SLBA leadership, panel discussions on key legal and governance issues, the consideration of resolutions, and the election of new officials to lead the Association.

The SLBA further reminded members that participation in the AGM, including voting and eligibility to contest for positions, will be strictly limited to those who have fully paid their conference and annual subscription fees on or before May 29, 2026.

The Association said the AGM will serve as an important platform for strengthening professional engagement among lawyers and addressing contemporary challenges within the legal sector.

It added that the meeting will also provide an opportunity for members to explore the role of the legal profession in supporting trade, finance, and broader economic integration, both within Sierra Leone and internationally.
