Orange Sierra Leone Launches the 8th Edition of the Orange Social Venture Prize in Sierra Leone, 16th Across Africa and the Middle East, to Support Social Innovation, and Encourage Local Entrepreneurship.

Orange Sierra Leone has officially launched the 8th edition of the Orange Social Ventures Prize (OSVP) in Sierra Leone and 16th edition in Africa and the Middle East reaffirming its commitment to innovation, youth entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in Sierra Leone and across the region.

Since its inception, the Orange Social Ventures Prize has attracted over 17,600 applications, establishing itself as a flagship initiative that supports technology driven solutions with strong social and environmental impact.

For the 2026 edition, entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone are invited to submit their projects from 26 March to 10 May 2026 via the official platform below.

The competition is open to startups and project leaders using technology to tackle pressing societal challenges.

The 8th edition of OSVP places a strong emphasis on cutting edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and cybersecurity, particularly when applied to priority sectors such as agriculture, education, health, and environmental protection. These sectors are central to Sierra Leone’s socio economic transformation. Through this initiative, Orange Sierra Leone positions itself as a trusted partner to local innovators, supporting solutions that improve livelihoods, strengthen resilience, and drive inclusive growth.

Beyond financial rewards, OSVP serves as a powerful growth accelerator for startups. National winners benefit from access to Orange Digital Centers, technical and business mentoring, strategic partnerships within the Orange ecosystem, and increased visibility that supports funding and market expansion.

This comprehensive support framework enables startups to scale sustainably while maximizing development impact.

The competition unfolds in two phases. During the national phase, projects are evaluated by a jury composed of innovation ecosystem stakeholders and Orange representatives, who select the strongest initiatives as national winners. The top three winners from each participating country then advance to the international phase, competing for the International Grand Prize and the International Women’s Prize. Following an initial evaluation by Orange Group experts, finalists will be selected, with international winners announced starting October 2026.

At the national level in Sierra Leone, prizes include SLE 200,000 for the National Winner and SLE 120,000 for the Tech Queen in the women’s category. At the international level, prizes range from €10,000 to €25,000, with an additional €20,000 International Women’s Prize.

Through the Orange Social Ventures Prize, Orange Sierra Leone continues to empower entrepreneurs, foster innovation, and contribute to the country’s digital and economic future, while reinforcing Orange’s role as a key driver of sustainable development across Africa and the Middle East.
