Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis has been recognised at the National 70 Most Influential Students Awards for his contributions to education and youth development in Sierra Leone.
The award, presented by students from across the country, acknowledges his efforts in supporting educational initiatives and promoting opportunities for young people.
A key aspect of his work is through the One Love Salone Foundation, which has provided scholarships, mentorship, and other forms of educational support to students nationwide. Beneficiaries say the initiative has helped reduce financial barriers and enabled many to continue their education.

Education remains a central focus of Hon. Tunis’s engagements, with his support extending to advocacy for improved access to quality learning and the promotion of equal opportunities for students.
In addition to his contributions to education, Hon. Tunis has also been involved in governance and regional cooperation efforts aimed at promoting development and stability within Sierra Leone and the wider West African region.
Organisers of the National 70 Most Influential Students Awards say the recognition is intended to highlight individuals whose work continues to positively impact young people and national development.

The award comes at a time when stakeholders continue to emphasise the importance of investing in education as a driver of sustainable development in Sierra Leone.
