The Mass Communication Students’ Association (MACOSA) at Fourah Bay College (FBC) is set to host a fundraising cocktail and dance on Saturday, 26 April, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, FBC, starting at 7:30 PM.

The event is themed “Rethinking the Contribution of the Media in National Development” and is aimed at raising funds for the renovation of the Mass Communication garden and library, which serve as key academic and research spaces for students.

Organizers say the initiative is designed to support learning, creativity, and research within the department while encouraging broader discussions on the role of the media in national development.

The programme will bring together students, media practitioners, academics, and development partners to reflect on how the media can contribute to governance and national transformation.

The evening will feature music, dance, and refreshments, with attendees expected to observe a formal dress code.

Contribution categories are set at Le 200 for students, Le 300 for silver, Le 500 for gold, and Le 1,000 for patrons. Proceeds will go toward improving academic facilities within the department.

Organizers say the event also seeks to promote unity, collaboration, and investment in media education to strengthen the training of future communication professionals.

The public is encouraged to attend or support the initiative through sponsorship and donations. For reservations and inquiries, interested persons can contact +23277433039.
