The Patriotic Advocacy Network (PAN) has marked its 13th anniversary, highlighting over a decade of work in youth empowerment, patriotism, and national development across Sierra Leone.
Founded on April 13, 2013, PAN has grown from a grassroots initiative into a national network focused on shaping and supporting young people through advocacy programmes, leadership training, and community engagement aimed at promoting civic responsibility and national pride.
In a statement marking the anniversary, members of the network reflected on its journey, describing it as one defined by resilience, growth, and community impact. They said PAN’s mission remains focused on fostering patriotism and encouraging active citizenship through education and engagement.
“Thirteen years is not just a celebration of time, but of transformation,” the statement said. “We have consistently believed that investing in the personal development of young people is the foundation for national progress.”
Since its establishment, PAN has implemented several initiatives centred on youth leadership, civic responsibility, and social cohesion, contributing to increased awareness and engagement among young people in national development processes.
Stakeholders and partners have commended the organization for its contribution to promoting unity and civic consciousness, particularly among young people.
As it marks “13 Years of Impact” and “13 Years of Patriotism,” PAN reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its outreach and strengthening its advocacy programmes aimed at empowering young people.
The organization said it remains focused on contributing to a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Sierra Leone.
