The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (Sierra Leone Football Association), Babadi Kamara, has departed for Côte d’Ivoire to participate in a high-level FIFA consultative meeting on the upcoming FIFA Forward 4.0 development programme.

The engagement, convened by world football governing body FIFA, is focused on discussions surrounding the next phase of its global football development funding initiative, as the current Forward 3.0 cycle is set to conclude in 2026.

The FIFA Forward programme, introduced under FIFA President Gianni Infantino, serves as a key development mechanism aimed at strengthening football infrastructure, administration, and technical capacity across member associations worldwide.

The upcoming Forward 4.0 cycle is expected to run from 2027 to 2030 and will continue to provide financial and technical support to national associations for development projects, including infrastructure upgrades and football governance reforms.

While in Abidjan, capital of Ivory Coast, President Kamara is also expected to attend one of the ongoing FIFA Series matches taking place in the city of Abidjan, alongside other football leaders and stakeholders.

The consultative meeting brings together member associations from across the globe to help shape the future direction of FIFA’s development strategy ahead of the launch of the new funding cycle.
