Excitement is building in Freetown as preparations intensify for the Prince of Wales Brass Band Fest Vol. 2, scheduled to take place on April 10 and 11, 2026, at the POW Sports Complex.

The event is being organized by Prince of Wales School in collaboration with its Brass Band and the Old Prince Waleans Association (OPWA).

Dubbed “The Prologue: Another Centenary Dawns,” the festival is intended to serve as a prelude to the school’s 101st anniversary celebrations, bringing together students, alumni, and supporters.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Vice President of OPWA, Alhaji Dauda Musa Bangura, said the festival is already attracting international attention, noting that members of the alumni community in the diaspora are making arrangements to return to Sierra Leone to participate.

He described the Brass Fest as both a reunion platform and an opportunity for reflection among members of the school community. “This is a pre-thanking programme to ginger up our 101 anniversary celebration,” he said.

Organizers say the two-day event will feature brass band performances, drum line drills, and live jazz sessions, including performances by Millo Jazz. Food and beverage stands are also expected to be available at the venue.

Tickets have been set at 30 NLE per day for ordinary access, while a patron package is available at 1,000 NLE.

The event is expected to attract a wide audience, including alumni, students, and members of the public.
