The Institute of Advanced Management and Technology (IMATT), through its Law Department, is set to host the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, and the Chairman of the Independent Media Commission (IMC), Joseph Ebenda Kapuwa, as guest lecturers at a high-level academic engagement aimed at strengthening legal education and policy awareness among students.

The engagement forms part of IMATT’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world policy application by connecting students with key national institutions and policymakers. Discussions are expected to focus on the intersection of law, media regulation, access to information, digital governance, and democratic development in Sierra Leone.

According to the Head of the Law Department and Lecturer in Media and Telecommunications Law, Mohamed Wurie Bah, the session will provide students with valuable first-hand exposure to contemporary regulatory frameworks shaping the country’s information and communications landscape.

Mohamed Wurie Bah described the engagement as a significant milestone in the department’s mission to produce well-rounded legal professionals equipped with practical knowledge, regulatory insight, and ethical grounding for national service. He added that the lectures will deepen students’ understanding of media law, telecommunications regulation, public policy formulation, and democratic accountability.

IMATT expressed appreciation to the distinguished guests for accepting the invitation and reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and national development through strategic stakeholder engagement.
