The All People’s Congress (APC) convened an emergency press conference on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Brookfields, Freetown, under the theme “2028 at Stake: Where Are We Now on Electoral Reforms?”
The engagement, hosted by the Office of the National Organizing Secretary, brought together senior party executives, flagbearer aspirants, and national stakeholders to discuss Sierra Leone’s electoral preparedness and the implementation of the Tripartite Committee’s recommendations.

Among the key speakers was Ady Macauley, a respected lawyer, former Anti-Corruption Commissioner, and APC flagbearer aspirant. Macauley, widely recognized for his legal advocacy during the Commissions of Inquiry (COI) proceedings, reaffirmed his stance that the process was “politically motivated and inconsistent with principles of natural justice.” He reminded participants that “the APC stood firm against injustice then, and must continue to do so now, as the integrity of our democratic process depends on it.”

In his address, Macauley emphasized that credible data, lawful reforms, and constitutional adherence are non-negotiable for ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections in 2028. Commending the party’s leadership for establishing the Census Technical Committee, he described it as a proactive measure to defend electoral integrity.
“A flawed census produces flawed elections,” he warned, stressing the need to ensure that all census and boundary delimitation exercises align with both the Tripartite Committee’s recommendations and the constitutional 24-month requirement for data applicability.

Macauley further cautioned against any manipulation of census outcomes or administrative delays that could compromise the 2028 electoral calendar, reiterating the APC’s commitment to pursue all lawful means to safeguard democratic integrity.
His intervention reinforced his image as a principled reformist within the APC — one whose legal expertise and record of service continue to strengthen the party’s institutional resilience.

As the press conference concluded, party officials and supporters commended Macauley’s contributions, noting that his voice continues to bridge the APC’s legal and political strategies, ensuring that the party’s march toward 2028 remains anchored in justice, accountability, and national interest.
