Lawyer Mohamed Pa Momoh Fofana has called on Sierra Leoneans to place Allah above political leaders and to recognise that no president should be regarded as the ultimate authority.

Speaking on the maiden edition of the AYV State of the Nation, Fofana stressed the importance of respecting political leaders while maintaining that religious faith and devotion to Allah must come first.

“Our President is not our God. We respect our leaders, but we must put Allah first when thinking about the supreme executive authority,” Fofana said.

His remarks highlighted the need for citizens to distinguish between respect for constitutional and political authority and the recognition of Allah as the supreme authority.

Fofana’s comments came during discussions on the AYV State of the Nation, which provides a platform for national conversations on governance, leadership and issues affecting Sierra Leone.
