New SLFA President Babadi Kamara Unveils Bold Football Development Plan in Meeting with President Bio

His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio today hosted the newly elected President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, and his executive team at State House, where they presented their bold vision for the future of Sierra Leonean football.

In his presentation, Mr. Kamara outlined key priorities for the association, emphasizing collaboration, resource mobilization, and strategic partnerships, particularly with mining companies. He highlighted plans to work closely with the National Sports Association and the Ministry of Sports to revive the inter-secondary school league and inter-district competitions, which have long been considered breeding grounds for local talent.

The SLFA President also stressed the importance of discipline, sound financial management, and accountability in steering the sport toward sustainable progress.

President Bio congratulated the executive team on their election and assured them of his unwavering support. “Our nation has a strong passion for football, and I look forward to their leadership in revitalizing our success on the global stage,” the President stated. He further reaffirmed his government’s commitment to investing in football and other sports nationwide.

The meeting marks the start of a renewed partnership between the SLFA and the government, aimed at strengthening grassroots football, enhancing infrastructure, and positioning Sierra Leone as a competitive force in international football.
