On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Freetown Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, alongside her deputy Kweku Lisk, Chief Administrator Rahman Tom Farmar, and other staff of the Freetown City Council (FCC), held a meeting with the World Bank’s Implementation Support Mission for the Resilient Urban Sierra Leone Project (RUSLP).

The meeting focused on assessing the progress of RUSLP initiatives benefiting the FCC. The World Bank delegation was led by Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist Francis Samson Nkoka and PIU Lead Anthony Koroma.

The World Bank’s support under RUSLP encompasses key projects, including the #FreetownTheTreeTown initiative, upgrades to three informal settlements, the development of a Western Area Regional Structure Plan, and a Freetown Structure Plan.

The World Bank remains a vital donor partner in advancing the FCC’s Transform Freetown-Transforming Lives Development Agenda.
