A mega project is ongoing at the Sierra Leone Football Association Academy Field. This construction of a Pavilion will host 10,000 supporters’ two modern dressing rooms, a medical center, anti-doping centre, a gym and offices for match officials.
The project will provide comfortable lodging for fans. Additionally, two sets of modern dressing rooms to accommodate four different teams simultaneously will be constructed to ensure that players have the best facilities to prepare for matches. A medical center will also be built to cater to the health needs of players, with a focus on injury prevention and treatment.To uphold the integrity of the sport, an anti-doping center will be established to ensure fair play and compliance with anti-doping regulations. Furthermore, a gym will be constructed to help players maintain peak physical fitness, enhancing their performance on the pitch.
The project will also include offices for match officials, providing them with a conducive environment to carry out their duties efficiently. This move is aimed at improving the overall standard of officiating in football matches across the country.
The construction of these facilities is set to complement the four newly constructed artificial turf pitches across the country including SLFA Academy, Approved School Field, Port Loko Field, and Bo Coronation Field, creating a network of modern footballing infrastructure that will benefit the development of football at all levels.
