Paramount Chief Sadiq M. Kapuwa Withdraws Candidacy for Member of Parliament Position in Kenema District

Paramount Chief Sadiq M. Kapuwa Matoe IV of Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema District, has officially withdrawn his nomination as a candidate for the PCMP (Paramount Chief Members of Parliament) position in the upcoming elections.

In a letter dated April 15th, 2024, addressed to the Electoral Commissioner of Kenema, Chief Matoe stated:

“LETTER OF WITHDRAWAL OF NOMINATION AS CANDIDATE

I write to refer to the above and state that I have withdrawn my nomination as a candidate for the PCMP Position in the Kenema District.

I would like to thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding.”

The sudden decision to withdraw from the race has left many constituents and political observers baffled, as Chief Matoe was considered a strong contender for the position. However, the reasons behind his withdrawal remain undisclosed.
