RUSSIAN NATIONAL ROBS SIERRA LEONE BUSINESSES

While Sierra Leoneans are desperately trying to set-up businesses in order to be self-reliant and help in boosting the country’s economy through job creation and boost Local Content policy, a certain Russian national Mr. Mikhail Karateev is going around robbing and duping innocent and genuine, hardworking Sierra Leonean business people.

His latest exploit according to reports reaching our desk indicates that Mikhail Karateev who is carrying a Russian Passport No: 65 No. 6659316 went to the Chinese Beauty and Massage Parlor at Aberdeen, Lumley Beach at around 8th October, 2021. After enjoying their services he stated that he was going out to get his bag and to come and pay USD$340 which was the agreed price for the services he requested at the beauty and massage parlor.

However, according to information gathered, Mikhail Karateev never came back to settle his bill. The management of the beauty and massage parlor are now on the lookout for Mikhail Karateev and are soliciting information from the general public to ascertain his whereabouts so they can retrieve the money he owes them.

As all of this is going on, Mikhail Karateev’s latest criminal act was perpetrated against a Sierra Leonean diamond dealer. Information gathered revealed that he entered a diamond office as if he was a genuine diamond investor.

After securing the gem in his possession he left the office unknowingly as if he is playing with magic. To the disappointment and utter amazement of the diamond dealer, Mikhail Karateev showed a clean pair of heels and since then, has never been seen or heard from.

However, all of Mikhail Karateev’s victims agree that, he always appears decent, well-dressed and very respectable, honest and genuine. They add that he has a gift of the garb and that once he has interacted with you, there is hardly any reason to suspect that he is a racketeer and fraudster.

Meanwhile, investigations continue.
