Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security-designate, Umaru Napoleon Koroma, has appeared before Parliament’s Committee on Presidential Appointments for scrutiny and consideration of his nomination.
Koroma was among a number of presidential nominees appearing before the Committee as part of the parliamentary process for the consideration and approval of their appointments.
His appearance attracted notable enthusiasm from party supporters and grassroots loyalists, who gathered to demonstrate their solidarity and support for the ministerial nominee.

The strong reception highlighted Koroma’s connection with the party’s grassroots base and the confidence and loyalty he continues to command among supporters.
During the engagement with the Committee, Koroma is expected to demonstrate his preparedness, competence and understanding of the responsibilities of the Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security.

His appearance before the Committee forms part of the constitutional process through which presidential nominees are scrutinised before Parliament decides on their suitability for appointment.
If approved, Koroma will be expected to lead the Ministry in advancing policies and programmes aimed at promoting employment opportunities, protecting workers’ rights and strengthening social security systems in Sierra Leone.
