NCRA Extends Time of Obtaining National ID Cards

The National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) has announced an extension for obtaining ID cards.
The new deadline is set for June 28, 2024. This move aims to accommodate individuals who haven’t yet acquired their identification documents. The extension provides additional time for citizens and non citizens to fulfill this crucial requirement.
NCRA’s decision reflects a commitment to ensuring broader access to identification services. It acknowledges the importance of ID cards for various transactions and official purposes. Citizens and non citizens are encouraged to take advantage of this extended period to obtain their ID cards promptly. The initiative seeks to streamline the process and reduce barriers to accessing essential services.
Failure to comply with this directive by the deadline of June 28th 2024 could result in individuals being unable to access essential services, including healthcare, education, movement from one area to another and employment opportunities. Failure to obtain a National & Non-National ID card after the deadline May lead to arrest by authorities, ID card is the primary and only personal identification card.
Residents are urged to begin the process of obtaining their National Identity Cards as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute rush. The NCRA has set up various registration centres across the country to facilitate this process.
