Monday 26th April, 2021 was a Red Letter day at the Freetown International Airport in Lungi when hundreds of people witnessed the arrival of Gambian President, Adama Barrow.
No sooner he stepped out of his private jet, there was thunderous applause, welcoming him to Sierra Leone as Guest of Honor.
Apart from hundreds of Sierra Leoneans who lined the tarmac to welcome President Barrow, the Gambian Community in Sierra Leone too were in their numbers both at the Freetown International airport and at the Murray Town Pelican.
Earlier, receiving his Gambian colleague at the Freetown International Airport, President Julius Maada Bio was outwardly very happy as he embraced and exchanged courtesies with President Barrow.
President Bio then escorted the Gambian President to a waiting vehicle which took them to the Pelican vessel which transported them to Murray Town in mainland Freetown.
A number of Gambians residing in Sierra Leone informed this press that this is the biggest ever accorded a visiting Gambian President to Sierra Leone. They added that President Barrow since he was elected has been very resilient in revamping the economy with particular emphasis on private sector investment; much like his colleague President Julius Maada Bio is also engaged at the moment.
