Since after the end of the 2018 elections, this is the first time the former APC presidential flag bearer, Dr. Samura Kamara travelled out of the country to visit his Sierra Leonean counterparts in the Gambia.
This is the first time any Sierra Leonean politician received such a massive welcome as was seen yesterday, Tuesday 15th June, 2021 in Banjul, capital city of The Gambia. Hundreds of Sierra Leoneans carrying banners depicting their support and respect for the former APC flag bearer.
They welcomed him with songs of praise and hope that he would be reconsidered for the position of APC flag bearer because they believe that he is the fittest candidate for flag bearer that has the clout, charisma and following to lead the APC to victory come 2023.
Addressing the hundreds of Sierra Leoneans gathered, Dr. Samura assured them of victory as long as they continue to be united and support and believe in the APC as the only party which can change the situation of all Sierra Leoneans for the better. He advised them to always be law-abiding in their host country – The Gambia, adding that Gambians and Sierra Leoneans have maintained brotherly and sisterly relations for decades and have shared common and mutual cooperation in education, trade and have even inter-married.
He admonished Sierra Leoneans living peacefully and law-abiding, observing and respecting all the laws of the land until such a time they can return to help in the development of their country.
