IBS Foundation Calls for Massive Voters' Registration in Kenema

The Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Foundation has on Saturday, 3rd September, 2022 in streets rally called on the people of Kenema District to go out and massively register to vote President Bio for continued developments within the radius and circumference of the district and the country at large.

Speaking to prospective voters, the National Coordinator, Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Foundation, Daniel Solomon Vandy Koi pleaded with them to see reasons why they should register massively and vote for President Bio in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

He said, *”I’m calling on all bike riders, market women, pupils and students that have attained eligibility age, and members of all walks of life to go out and register. This registration is very much important. It is what will qualify every Sierra Leonean that has attained eighteen years, or can be eighteen years before June 24th, 2023 to vote or be voted for.”*

Coordinator Koi further highlighted the importance of the Voters Identified Card.

*”The Voters ID Card that will be issued out to you is not just for elections; you can use the ID Card to collect money at banks or other remittance outlets. You can also use that card for verification purposes when the need arises. For all these reasons, I’m calling on everybody here in Kenema, and the country as a whole to go out and exercise one of your civic rights and responsibilities.”* Koi explained.

One of the internal coordinators of the foundation and a teacher, Keifala Percy Junior, told the people of Kenema that they should not in anyway downplay the registration exercise; and the re-election of President Julius Maada Bio. The reasons he advanced were for the continuation of the Free Quality Education, Peaceful Coexistence, National Unity, Rehabilitation and Regaining of International Reputation, Rapid Infrastructural Development across the Country and many more. He warned them that they should not let the power that thought about them to go somewhere that will marginalize them; as it was during the past decades before 2018.

Many onlookers appreciated the courtesy call made by the Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Foundation and assured the foundation of their commitments to register and vote back for President Bio to continue leading this country in the New Direction, which they said is the “Right Direction.”

The Country Director of the Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Foundation, Massaquoi Mannah Massaquoi said the sensitization exercise organised by the the foundation was their own contribution to complement the work of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) and the government to call on Sierra Leoneans home and abroad to go out and massively register so they will be eligible to vote and be voted for.
