Hon. Alpha Ben Mansaray has called on the people of Moyamba District to unite and intensify advocacy efforts on key development issues, including major road projects and the state of the Moyamba Government Hospital.
In a statement titled “A Wake-Up Call to the People of Moyamba,” Mansaray urged residents and stakeholders to maintain focus on three critical priorities that he said must remain at the centre of engagements with the Government.
He called for renewed attention to the Mabang–Gbangbatoke Junction Road Toll Agreement, which was laid before Parliament last year, stressing that the agreement should not be allowed to remain unattended. He urged stakeholders to seek clarity on the status of the agreement, government commitments, and the timeline for implementation.
Mansaray also emphasised the need for continued advocacy for the Moyamba–Shenge Road, arguing that the project requires a formal commitment that can withstand political transitions. He said, at a minimum, the Government should leave behind a signed and Parliament-approved agreement before the end of the current administration.
He further identified the Moyamba Government Hospital as another urgent priority, calling on political leaders, Paramount Chiefs, Members of Parliament, and other influential sons and daughters of the district to work together and engage President Julius Maada Bio directly on the issue.
According to Mansaray, the push for these developments should not be viewed through a political lens but as a collective effort to advance the interests of Moyamba District.
He warned that 2027 would be a busy political year as attention shifts towards transition and preparations for the 2028 elections, urging the people of Moyamba not to delay their demands.
“The time to act is now,” Mansaray stated, calling for unity and a common agenda focused on roads, healthcare, and other development priorities affecting the district.
He concluded by urging Moyamba to “speak with one voice, act with urgency, and demand results” to secure lasting commitments for the people.
