for the Renovation and Construction of TVET Workshop and Model farm structures

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is currently implementing the following Project: Employment Promotion Programme IV (EPPIV)in Sierra Leone.

The Employment Promotion Programme IV in Sierra Leone is co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU). The programme is steered and hosted by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).

As part of this project, GIZ intends to award contract/s for the renovation and construction of government technical training Institutes (GTIs) and Model farms. The construction work is divided into 4 Lots which corresponds with the construction sites as seen below.

The implementation will be at the locations below:

LOT 1 Government Technical Institute (GTI) – Kabala, Koinadugu District

LOT 2 Government Technical Institute (GTI) – Kailahun, Kailahun District

LOT 3 Government Technical Institute (GTI) – Koidu, Kono District

LOT 4 Government Technical Institute (GTI) – Mattru Jong, Bonthe District

The scope of works in Kabala, Kailahun and Koidu includes the renovation of existing workshop and Admin structures and construction of new workshop structures / dormitories / common rooms / agro-processing facilities / animal house / farmhouse and VIP latrines.

The scope of works in Mattru Jong includes construction of new workshop structures / dormitories / common rooms and VIP latrines.

Tender procedure from invitation to tender until signing of contract is expected to take place between November and December Construction work is expected to be performed and completed approximately within 8 months from signing of contract.

To qualify for consideration in the tender procedure, interested companies are required to submit the following information and documents for eligibility assessment:

  1. Official letter expressing interest.
  2. Company details including full company name, full address, phone and email;
  3. Copy of company registration certificate.
  4. Copy of valid Construction works certificate registration / license [applicable construction council, engineering association, trading license or the like required to perform the works];
  5. Copy of valid NaSSIT Clearance Certificate.
  6. Copy of Valid NRA – Tax Clearance.
  7. Company profile including number of employees (permanent / temporary in total) and number of professional staff qualified to perform the works, each for the last three (3) years, and short CVs for the key staff.
  8. References of works of similar nature as specified above (performed within the last five (5) years);
  9. Total value of works of similar nature as specified above (for each of the last five (5) years);
  10. Annual total turnover for each of the last three (3) years.
  11. Evidence of ownership of equipment and machinery necessary to execute the works or evidence of possibility to hire the same.
