Expression of Interest (EoI) implement the formation and trainings for 600 youths on Entrepreneurship in Agro-processing PN: 20.2105.3-003.00

Background

The TVET Development Component of EPP IV addresses the mismatch between skills supply and the labour market demand through provision of targeted skills training among youth using the private sector approach. By providing the relevant trainings and injecting financial support in their investment will improve their livelihoods.  

The Entrepreneurship in Agro-processing trainings addresses the needs of rural young people within the GIZ/EPP operational districts of Kailahun, Kono, Koinadugu and Falaba.

Overall goal 

In the bid to enhance entrepreneurial capacity of young people in the agribusiness sector across the EPP4 operational location project plans to implement training curriculum in ‘Entrepreneurship in Agro-processing’ focusing on (pepper, cassava, groundnut, palm cannel and Bennie-sesame). Mainly Agriculture value chain production and marketing that will ensure employability opportunity whether in paid employment or self-employment. 

Purpose and Timeframe 

The assignment is to develop and implement a portfolio of a curriculum for skills development modules in entrepreneurship focusing on agri-business and Agro-processing/crop transformation for the target group of rural unemployed and underemployed youth, mostly petty traders and farmers. The training is estimated to cover 600 beneficiaries, 200 per district in the three operational districts of Kailahun, Kono, and Koinadugu/Falaba.

However, the total contract period including planning (tools development, setup and implementation is expected between November to May 2023 but the actual trainings are to be implemented within four (4) weeks per district excluding training.

Documents to be submitted

  • The service provider provides poof of good standing, commercial qualification, payment of taxes and social benefits: Clearance certificate of NRA and NASSIT
  • The service provider is based and registered in Sierra Leone: Certificate of Business Registration
  • The service provider(s) should have a minimum of three (3) year experience in the tasks outlined and in the targeted areas in Sierra Leone and show a wide understanding of the topic: A brief company profile that holds details of their experiences in delivering on similar tasks is required.
  • Submission of Expressions of Interest
  • Service providers should submit their “Expression of Interest” in a plain sealed envelope in the Tender Box situated at the GIZ Country Office Reception –32d Wilkinson Road, Freetown not later than 15th November 2022, 4:30 PM local time, clearly marked with “Entrepreneurship in Agro-processing – “COSOFT NUMBER 83424485”
  • Only prequalified bidders will be contacted with detailed Terms of Reference and tender documentation for submission of technical and financial bids.
