Every football dream has a starting point.
For Abubakarr “AB. Sillah” Sillah, that journey began on the grassroots grounds of KT Field, Kingtom, where young players develop their skills, test their abilities and nurture their passion for the game.
Today, that dream has taken him beyond the familiar fields of home and onto the international stage, where he now wears the colours of Sierra Leone.
The young attacking talent has earned a place in the Sierra Leone U-17 National Team for the 2026 WAFU-A U-17 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Senegal, marking a significant milestone in a journey that is still in its early stages.
From KT Field to the National Colours
Born in Freetown on November 28, 2012, AB. Sillah began his football journey through grassroots football, where his passion and natural ability started to develop.
His early experiences with Zizo, Butak and Blackpool helped lay the foundation for his development before he progressed to competitive youth football with Philip FC.
Known for his pace, technical ability, creativity and attacking instincts, Sillah has developed into a versatile forward capable of playing as a left winger, right winger or centre-forward.
However, earning recognition is only one part of the journey. Behind every opportunity are hours of training, discipline, sacrifice and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Sillah kept working, and eventually, the national team call came.
A Dream Fulfilled, A Bigger Dream Ahead
Being selected to represent Sierra Leone at U-17 level is a significant achievement for Sillah and a proud moment for his family, coaches, teammates and others who have supported his development.
From KT Field in Kingtom to the national team, his journey demonstrates the opportunities that can emerge when young players are given the platform to develop their talents.
His selection has also given him an opportunity to gain valuable international experience and compete at a higher level of youth football.

While Sierra Leone’s campaign in Senegal may not have produced the outcome the team wanted, the experience offers another opportunity for the players to learn, develop and prepare for future competitions.

Now, the Sierra Leone U-17 National Team has opened the door to international football, with Senegal providing another important chapter in his young career.
