Deputy Leader of Government Business in Sierra Leone Parliament is a Towering Figure in Governance

Hon. Bashiru Silikie is the present Deputy Leader of Government Business in the House of Parliament and also Deputy Leader of Delegation to the Pan Africa Parliament, Chairman of the Committee of Works and Public Assets, a Member of  the Appointments and Public Order Committee and as well as a Member of the Transport, Mines, Information and Communications Committees in Parliament of Sierra Leone.

He first became a Member of Parliament in 2012 representing Constituency 082 in the Baoma Chiefdom, Bo district, since then he has served in that position to date. Hon. Bash as he’s fondly called is a firm believer of President Bio’s political and development ideologies, and he has been a strong supporter of the New Direction Philosophy. He has been working progressively towards achieving the development goals of the President.

Hon Bashiru Silikie is a holder of a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Degree from Njala University, a Bachelor of Arts(Linguistics) Degree from the same university.

Born in Yamandu in the Baoma Chiefdom, he started his primary  school education at ICS primary School, Yamandu in the Boama Chiefdom, and later proceeded to the Police primary school at Kissy Mess Mess. Later, he attended the Bo School and the Saint Edwards Secondary School in Freetown.

The charismatic MP has won a lot of awards for his developmental drive in his Constituency, and the country at large.

His appointment as the Deputy Leader was well received by the public as it was considered the ‘’Era Of Young People’’. His appointment joins the many young people President Maada Bio has appointed in strategic leadership positions and these young people are effecting the desired changes in our society.

The leadership of Hon. Mathew Nyuma as Leader of Government Business, and Hon. Bashiru as Deputy Leader has been recognized as one the youngest and most result oriented leaderships of the House of Parliament since  the establishment of the Sierra Leone Parliament.
