Despite the postponement of the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) Annual General Meeting (AGM), supporters of presidential aspirant Martina Baindu Egbenda have confirmed that their much-anticipated Cocktail and Networking Event will proceed as planned this evening at Chapter One Restaurant in Freetown.

The event, organised by Team Martina, is scheduled to commence at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, 31 July 2026, at Chapter One Restaurant, where lawyers from across the country are expected to gather for an evening of fellowship, professional networking, and dialogue.

In a statement issued by Team Martina, organisers emphasized that although the AGM was unexpectedly postponed, the objectives of the cocktail event remain unchanged.

“Despite the unfortunate postponement of today’s Sierra Leone Bar Association Annual General Meeting, the Team Martina Cocktail and Networking Event will proceed as scheduled this evening,” the statement read.

According to the organisers, the gathering was designed to strengthen professional relationships and promote engagement among members of the legal fraternity, noting that the day’s developments do not diminish the importance of bringing colleagues together.

Team Martina has invited all lawyers to attend the event, expressing appreciation for the continued support received throughout the campaign.

“We therefore look forward to welcoming all lawyers at Chapter One Restaurant at 8:00 p.m. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to spending the evening with you,” the statement added.

In a separate notice, Chapter One Restaurant informed customers that Ocean Terrace Restaurant and Cloud 9 Rooftop would be closed for the day due to the private event.

The cocktail forms part of Martina Egbenda’s engagement with members of the Bar ahead of the rescheduled SLBA elections, as her campaign continues under the slogan: “One Bar. One Voice. One Commitment to the Rule of Law.”
