Leading All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Ady Macauley, has issued a message to mark Sierra Leone’s Independence Day, urging citizens to recommit to the core values that underpin national cohesion and progress.

In his statement released on April 27, 2026, Macauley emphasized the importance of democracy, justice, peace, unity, and sustainable development as guiding principles for the country’s future.

“Let us renew our commitment to the ideals that bind us together as one people: democracy, justice, peace, unity, and sustainable development,” he stated.

Reflecting on the significance of Independence Day, Macauley described the occasion as a moment for Sierra Leoneans to rise above divisions and work collectively toward strengthening democratic institutions. He stressed the need for a united national effort to build a society where every citizen can enjoy dignity, equal opportunity, and hope.

The APC aspirant further reaffirmed his political vision, highlighting his commitment to leadership rooted in unity, service, accountability, and national development. He noted that, as he seeks to lead within the APC and potentially the country, his focus remains on fostering inclusive governance and advancing the collective interests of the people.

Macauley concluded by expressing optimism for the nation’s future, calling on citizens to use the Independence Day celebration as a platform to renew their shared resolve in building a stronger, fairer, and more peaceful Sierra Leone for both present and future generations.
