Watford FC Young Star Pledges Allegiance to Sierra Leone

London born football young star of Sierra Leone origin, Kamil Conteh has vouchsafed to defend Sierra Leone’s national colours of Green, White and Blue in the area of football. The 18-year-old is currently playing for Watford Football Club in England.

Kamil Conteh is willing to represent Sierra Leone, the country where both his parents emigrated from, he told the media recently on line. “I have a special passion to fly Sierra Leone’s flag, and am longing for that day when I will be part of the national team to defend Sierra Leone.”

He joined Watford FC in September 2018 after being released at Crystal Palace FC in 2017 where he represented at the under 11 and 14 levels.

Kamil joined Crystal Palace at the age of 11 and served until age 14 before his release. He had a brief sojourn with  Millwall FC where he went on trial but not offered a contract. This led him to be relegated to playing low key for 1 year.

During that period, he engaged with Lambeth Tigers in London before joining Watford in 2018 for a 6 weeks’ trial as a U16 player. He was also offered a scholarship by the team.  He spent his first year at Watford where he was straight away drafted to the U18s team.

During that year he also made his U23 debut where he played a few games before fracturing his hand, which got him sidelined for 3 months.  He was due to resume when football was put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak late last year. 

At the beginning of this season, he got promoted to play on the 23 sides where he also scored his first goal for the club against Millwall.

Kamil Conteh is a Right footed Central Midfielder but he is also confident with the left foot,  enabling him to also play at the Right.

He has devoted to playing for Sierra Leone and willing to represent the team at under 23 levels.
