Sports Minister and SLFA President Boost Leone Stars Camp Ahead of Encounter with Super Eagles.

With just a few hours to go ahead of today’s much talked about encounter between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Leones Stars of Sierra Leone, the Minister of Sports Hon. Ibrahim Nyelenkeh and President of the Sierra Leone Football Association Madam Isha Johansen rallied around the boys with words of encouragement and great support.

The Chairman of the National Sports Authority Dr Kenneth Brima, Head of Parliamentary Sports Oversight Committee Hon. Alusine Alu Conteh and SLFA first Vice President Brima Mazola Kamara were also present adding words of mentoring and encouragement to the players.

The FA President ended her inspirational speech reminding the boys that “Africa is watching, and the world is watching this match. Use this opportunity to change our narrative and put Sierra Leone first.”

The Minister of Sports Ibrahim Nyelenkeh assured the team of government’s continued support in ensuring they are always motivated in camp.

Leone Stars Captain Umaru Zengalay Bangura speaking on behalf of the team thanked the speakers with assurances of the team’s confidence and determination to “create surprises in today’s match.” ”These are the kinds of matches we always look forward to, where most people would see us as less favourite. We assure the Nation that we are going to rise to the occasion today.” The Captain passionately stated.

This globally attractive 2022 AFCON Qualifiers clash will take place at the Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State at 17:00 hrs (4pm Salone Time).
