Front runner and 2018 Presidential Candidate of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Dr. Samura Kamara on Tuesday 8 September 2020 launched his website for the coming flag bearer elections of the party and the 2023 general elections. Launching the website the former flag bearer said the website was the idea of Mr Sherif Ismail, Mr Kamara and the late Saio Marrah as they came together to set up this site to make sure that the information of him will always be accurate.
“I am very grateful to them especially the late Saio Marrah who was so enthusiastic of this website but unable to present today during the launching. We missed him and we hope that where ever he is he will be happy that his dream has been actualized. Also I want to make it clear that not a penny came from my pocket because these guys believed in me and they believe that I can be a good leader for Sierra Leone, they came together and started the project that today I am proud of.”
He said the website is for references as those he wants to know about him and his work over the years will have the correct information about him and the days that people can just write any lies is over.
He called on all those using the social media to make use of the website to get up to date information and they can even contribute to his campaign and they can leave their comments and questions so that his team will work on it and get back to them.
The APC Front runner, Dr Samura Kamara said the world is now digitalized and he will want every Sierra Leonean to use the social media for development and positive interaction that enhance growth of the country.
Explaining about the website both Mr Ismail and Mr Karama explained in depth on how the website is operated and how they contribute to the campaign.
Mr Koroma said the reason why they created the website is because presently elections are digitalized and those numbers you get from the website cannot be faked.
“When we launched the website, in four days from 4th to 9th August we had 31,500 people who entered the site to read about Dr Samura Kamara’s profile and this was what gave us more zeal to work and expand on it as we swathe need to bring in facebook, twitter, youtube and instagram in it so that we will be able to capture all of those using those media to reach Dr Samura Kamara.”
He said the site is work in progress as they will continue to work on it so that they will be able to capture all because according to data in Sierra Leone, over 700,000 are using facebook and over a million people are on social media.
Mr Sherif Ismail said their aim is to make sure that Dr Samura Kamara wins the flag bearer elections within the party so that he will represent the party in the 2023 elections because they believed in him, and his vision resonates with prosperity and success.
He said those that want to get information on Dr Samura Kamara can log in on www.samurakamara2023.com and they will have all the information they are looking for and they are ready to link newspapers with website to the above address so people can read these newspapers if they log in to Dr Samura Kamara’s web page.
