The Director General, Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, on Monday 13th July, 2020
launched corporate uniforms for employees of the Trust. This epoch-making
event which drew staff of the institution from every division and department
and members of the press took place at the NASSIT Conference Room at
Walpole Street in Freetown
Speaking at launch, the Director General expressed his delight over the
fulfilment of the commissioning of the Trust corporate wear which, he said,
was the tradition of the institution. He intimated his audience that image was
everything to an organization in the corporate world, as it was meant to give
the client the best impression of the organization, increase employee morale
and promote the corporate brand of an organization.
According to the Director General, the provision of a good corporate wear for
staff was a manifestation of Management’s commitment to providing a
conducive and enviable atmosphere for them to work and perform at their
optimum level.
Mr. Daboh stated that ensuring a mandatory wear would not only give the
professional standard or image of the institution, but would also help the staff
by uniting them as a team and enhance performance.
He added that such a unique and colourful atmosphere at a work place would give customers a great sense of confidence and trust in the employees and provides safety for both
employees and customers, while also working as an effect marketing tool.
In concluding Mr. Daboh opined that to NASSIT, the corporate wear would be
an instrument of advertisement, identity, while garnering the right impression
to the clients. He encouraged all uniformed staff to use the wears judiciously and be conscious more than ever before that they were the corporate
ambassadors of the scheme and were expected to act likewise.
The General Manager, Administration and Human Resources, Peter Jusu Kenah
who chaired the occasion, expressed his delight in the programme, saying, “I
can feel the joy and smartness of my staff as they are colourfully dressed
today”. He promised that Management would always seek their welfare in a
bid to making them happy. He called on all to complement Management’s
effort in making NASSIT an enviable institution, adding, “As we strive for
excellence, we must give our utmost in the workplace”.
Delivering her vote of thanks, the President of the NASSIT Staff Association,
Madam Patricia Osuwo, expressed her gratitude to the Director General and
Management for another milestone. She said NASSIT had given them an
identity and had made them glamorous among their peers. She intimated that
the corporate wear would not only unify them, boost their morale and
increase their confidence but would also cushion their expenses.
Over the years, the President said, they had been spending a huge amount of money on
colourful wears to meet the demand of the work place. To her colleagues, she urged them not to be oblivious of the demand the corporate identity would bring to the fore. “Whilst we are gallant in our outlook and bright in our glamour, we must be mindful of our ambassadorial roles, and should therefore act responsibly”.
