GIA University Decorates DIF-SL CEO

The Global International Alliance University , United States of America (USA), Atlanta , Georgia  has decorated the Founder and Chief Executive Officer , Disabled International Foundation Sierra Leone / United Kingdom  an International Honorary Doctorate for her global humanitarianism for over twenty years.

Dr. Imambay Kadie Kamara was amongst great leaders from the USA   Army, celebrities, politicians and prominent leaders from around the world to receive such an international recognition. 

In an exclusive interview, Dr. Kadie Kamara thanked the Almighty God for an opportunity she described as wonderful to receive   an international recognition bestowed upon her as an International Honorary Doctorate, counting it as a great honor to have her work being recognized on such a huge international platform.  

“ I am forever grateful for all my achievements, this was such a life changing experience” she noted.

She also disclosed that the University also gave him a special recognition and also an opportunity to speak about her work with regard people living with disabilities  both in the United Kingdom and Sierra Leone  and therefore regards such opportunity as a milestone achievement .

She told this medium that she was humble that her hard work has pay off and promised to continue dedicating herself to the cause of humanitarian work. 

She expressed thanks and appreciation to Ambassador Dr. Lenora Wembely Peterson and   Professor Dr. Caroline Makake and her children for their supports.

In Sierra Leone, Dr. Kadie Kamara is regarded as the mother of disability as her organization was among the first to start given startup capital to over hundred of disabled women and girls, PWD community, Pademba road, Freetown.

Disabled International Foundation Sierra Leone /UK is on record for its free distribution of wheel chairs and churches to disabled youths in the country’s capital and its environs coupled with livelihood support to economically deprive parents and caregivers of disabled children in school across the country.

She had over the years rented single rooms for ten disabled male youths in Lungi, Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom,  North   West  , thereby bringing solution to their homelessness for over ten years.

The Organization in early 2000 support  fifty blind master farmers  cultivation of groundnut and cassava , Katic Village ,  Lunsar ,  North of the country , an intervention that the Ministry of Social Welfare  Gender and Children Affairs  then ,  National Commission for Persons  with Disabilities considered as a novelty .

With her passion for education, Dr. Imambay Kadie Kamara self-funded the construction of a six class room building and refurbished of another six class room building at Mafotaneh village, Tonkolili district, north of the country, being the only community primary school providing education for ten neighboring villages  , a move that the district educational stakeholders appreciated. 

Since it construction and refurbishment, Disabled International Foundation Sierra Leone /UK organization continues to provide learning materials and allowances    to  teachers that are not in the government pay roll. Recent updates from the school management committee have it that the school currently awaits approval from government as a government assisted school bending their hopes on the advent of the Free Quality Education introduces by the Bio’s lead government. 

The organization’s interventions stand visible and had over the years impact lives, ironically, the organization is yet to receive any donor or government supports in Sierra Leone since its inception. 

Regardless of the said limitations mentioned above, the organization counts it all joy to be singled out for such an international recognition by the Global International Alliance University.
