Very tensed and highly determined pupils met to participate in the second phase of the record-breaking Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Academic Trophy in Kenema on Saturday 14th May 2022.

Like never before since the start of the journey in 2020 to date in order to complement President Bio’s effort in achieving a free and quality education, a total of fifteen schools locked horns to grab a star prize of Ten Million Leones.

The schools included the Government Secondary school Kenema, Holy Rosary secondary school, The Door international Academy, Holy Trinity Secondary school, Every nation academy, Ansarul Islamic Secondary school, Sierra International Academy, Echelon, Community Initiative Academy, Abson academy, Kings and Queens, Eastern Technical University’s secondary school formerly college secondary school, St. John Michael Kpulun Memorial secondary school, among others.

The road to success started with quiz in which all participating schools sent in two candidates each.

The scene was a fierce one but indeed every contest is meant to produce a victor or victors.

The debate followed next after a break that saw some pupils engaging their colleagues in well educative poems around girl child education, child trafficking, early marriage, to name but few that left many in great astonishment.

The debate went on among fifteen participants with topics around the impacts of class exams on society, and the merits of the electronics Government Procurement(e-GP) in Sierra Leone from the manual procurement system when it shall have been fully introduced.

Some debated for the motions while others debated against the motions.

The pupils were very outstanding and impressive during the debate session that was merged with series of educative messages.

The keynote speaker who is also President of the Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Academic Foundation and Chief Executive of the National Public Procurement Authority Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray (MCIPS), was then given the podium to address the august gathering that brought together over five hundred young and determined Sierra Leoneans who are ready to move education to a more enviable position in the country.

In his statement, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray thanked and appreciated all and sundry for the level of patriotism displayed by the various schools during the said tough contest.

He revealed that teachers are very eminent in any society.

The NPPA BOSS acknowledged that teachers are great movers of society and therefore called on them not to relent in their services to the nation.

Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray (MCIPS) noted that with the level of willingness displayed by both teachers and students during the second episode of the Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Academic Trophy in Kenema yesterday, is a great signal that Sierra Leone is moving forward under the leadership of President Bio.

He applauded President Bio for been so wise in making frantic efforts with strong faith that with better education Sierra Leone can move forward thus the reason for the institution of the Free Quality Education.

Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray (MCIPS) encouraged all to continue the trust in the leadership of President Bio and the New Direction.

As usual the NPPA BOSS states that with President Bio, Sierra Leone will reach the promise land.

Presentation of citations to deserving schools and individual pupils climaxed the occasion as Government Secondary school won best debater and best Debate team seconded by the Door International Academy and C.I.A emerging in the third position.

The Door international Academy won best quizzer and best quiz team followed by Government Secondary school and C.I.A respectively.

Celebration separated the audience as the entire process was very colorful.
