The Director General of NASSIT, Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, on Wednesday 16th June, 2021, officially handed over the structural design of the proposed Northwest Regional Office of National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) to the Chairman of Office of the President Infrastructural Initiative (OPII), Dr. John Tambi.
This epoch-making event, which brought together members of the OPII and the NASSIT Project Management team, took place in the office of the Director General, NASSIT Head Office Walpole Street in Freetown.
Handing the structural design and the construction documents to the Chairman of the OPII, the Director General expressed gratitude to His Excellency the President, Retired Brigadier Dr Julius Maada Bio, for the opportunity given him to serve the people of this country. He informed the meeting that the project was borne out of his Management’s desire to not only bring the Scheme closer to its members, increase its visibility and give confidence to the members, but also to contribute to the New Direction’s drive to transform the Northwest Region and Port Loko into a modern city.
Mr. Daboh stated that the ultra-modern edifice that would house the Northwest Regional Office would not only add to the beautification of the city, but also contribute to the livelihood and economy of the region.
The NASSIT strongman concluded that he was handing over the Project to the OPII for their supervision so that the ultimate objective would be achieved.
Receiving the document, the Chairman of the OPII, Rd. Jonathan Tambi, acknowledged the significance of such a magnificent project to the overall infrastructural objective of the New Direction Administration and the President’s desire to uplift Northwest Region and Port Loko City to an ultramodern city. He assured NASSIT and the people of Sierra Leone that his team would supervise the project and work with the relevant teams to ensure that there was value for money. He promised to regularly visit the site and update NASSIT Management on progress made.
Present at the ceremony were Ing. Abdul Njai, Project Manager and Engineer of OPII and Arc. Abel Onomake, Project Manager, NASSIT.
