Dr Samura Matthew Wilson Kamara was earlier today in Taima, Moyamba District to join mourners, the APC party and family members in paying their last respect to the late APC strong woman, Jane Kamanda who died recently after a short illness in Freetown.
Jane, 40 was until her demise a towering figure in the Samura Kamara Campaign Team where he held the position of President for the female support group, “Samura Babes”
Jane was very active in mobilizing grassroots support for a man she had always regarded as a father figure. She became an admirer of Dr. Samura Kamara since 2018 and has always played a prominent role in all campaign activities.
Jane would be sadly missed for her humility, loyalty and zest to produce results. When news of her death came on 7th April 2021, Dr Samura Kamara who almost broke down in tears visited to commiserate with the family over the loss of someone he described as “a very humble and hardworking woman who has had so much a positive influence in my life and the rest of my compatriots in the campaign”
A funeral service officiated by Bishop Kamanda at the Faith United Brethren Church, Regent Road Lumley was held on Saturday to pay last respect to the late Jane Kamanda.
A Foundation and Trust Fund with a Le15M start up capital has been officially launched in her memory.
A product of the Harford School for Girls in Moyamba, Jane Kamanda obtained a degree from the Milton Margai College of Education, Science and Technology in Freetown. She was survived by her daughter, Annie Mansaray.
On behalf of the entire Samura Kamara Campaign Team, we extend our sincere condolences to the family of late Jane Kamanda.
