As Tuesday 1st December 2020 marked the second day of the APC campaign in Constituency 110 for the bye- election scheduled for 10th December 2020, Hon. Chernor Maju Bah, popularly known as Chericoco, intensified the campaign through outreach to various communities, chiefs, chairmen, chairladies, youth leaders and other stakeholders.
The people’s honourable received a warm welcome by the constituents who were yearning to see a representative from their beloved party, that dream was accomplished with the intervention of the Honourable Chericoco, the people were very excited and enthusiastic in anticipation of voting for Hon. Kadie Davies, who according to many speakers at the event, unjustly suffered in the hands of the SLPP because she is a woman.
They disclosed that for someone to win a seat twice but denied victory is really a gross humiliation to women in this country.
A resident, Aminata intimated that many other women hold similar view and made firm commitments of their strong and unflinching support for honourable Kadie Davies underscoring that even though the incumbent government is trying to fool them with monies and fake promises, their love and support for the APC and Kadie Davies remains intact.
The Hon. Chericoco admonished the relevant authorities about APC legacies left behind by former President Ernest Bai Koroma compared to the current dispensation, urged them to maintain peace and calm as the party is renowned to be peaceful and law-abiding and continued by assuring them of protecting their votes come 12th December this year.
The constituents were also urged not to get panicked by SLPP hooligans as that might be one of their strategies to scare APC voters on voting day.
Hon. Chericoco further told supporters in various communities to vote resoundingly for APC and Kadie Davies even if not seen in person campaigning in their homes because she can’t be able to avail herself in everybody’s house as she is busy talking to people in other areas.
The leader of the opposition in parliament visited various communities engaging stakeholders and ended the tour of engagement at Ogoo Farm where he addressed foot soldiers in a similar vein and assuring supporters who gathered in their numbers to stop using the slogan “even if we vote 10 times we will win 10 times” but to use the slogan “if elections are conducted 10 times we will get up and vote 10 times,” that correction resonated to supporters.
The Honourable was so agile and convincing with his moves and actions that he was able to convince one worker at MMCET who boldly came to him and confessed that she was convinced by his civilized way of politics to vote for the APC candidate as she has always been neutral in the community.
Two other former SLPP card carriers openly came to Honourable Chericoco and declared for the APC because according to them the SLPP is a disgrace and disappointment.
According to the APC supporters, Hon. Chericoco is a real blessing to their great party and pray that he continues with the good work for the success of the party.
