The Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), Chernor Mamoud Jalloh, has concluded a two-day visit to Ghana aimed at strengthening regional social security cooperation and improving service delivery and benefit access for Sierra Leoneans.
The visit, held from 24 to 25 September 2026, included engagements with Ghana’s Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), investment stakeholders and regional social security partners.
During the visit, Jalloh held bilateral discussions with SSNIT’s Executive Committee, where he received a presentation on the institution’s operations, with particular focus on contribution collection, benefit payments and service delivery.
The discussions also highlighted SSNIT’s operational reforms, particularly the use of technology-driven systems for contribution collection and strengthened compliance enforcement as part of efforts to modernise social security administration and improve services to members and stakeholders.
NASSIT and SSNIT agreed to deepen collaboration between the two institutions, recognising the importance of regional cooperation in strengthening social protection systems across West Africa.
The engagement is expected to provide opportunities for the two institutions to share experiences, strengthen institutional capacity and explore approaches that could contribute to improved social security services and greater access to benefits.
Beyond social security administration, Jalloh also met with the leadership of Regimanuel Gray Ghana, including Chairman Emmanuel Botchwey and Managing Director Ibrahim Bah.
The discussions focused on the existing joint venture involving Regimanuel Gray and its Sierra Leone operations, as well as the future direction of the partnership.
Jalloh also paid a courtesy visit to the International Social Security Association (ISSA) Liaison Office for West Africa in Accra, where he reaffirmed NASSIT’s commitment to continued collaboration and capacity-building support.
The engagements formed part of NASSIT’s broader efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships, improve social security administration and enhance services for its members.
